My group analyzed the movie 42: The Story of Jackie Robinson which gave us a perspective (Jackie's) during the Civil Rights era that the majority of people did not care about at the time. After the completing the analysis I learned quite a bit about not just baseball in the Civil Rights era, but what innate qualities are in good coach. It is essential for me to understand and act on these qualities, so that I can be a model coach in the near future. Also, the perspective the movie gave me, allowed me to grow as an individual and coach because it made me think about situations from all points of view. The ability to see things from all aspects of life will be essential in my future endeavors (teaching and coaching) because it will increase my ability to collaborate with others.
